English title:	APPLICATION OF DIFFERENTS RANS k-w MODELS IN THE SOLUTION OF TUBULENT FLOW PROBLEMS.
Spanish title:	APLICACI�N DE DIFERENTES MODELOS RANS k-w EN LA SOLUCION DE PROBLEMAS DE FLUJO TURBULENTO
English abstract:	The purpose of this study is to validate the development of algorithms for solving turbulent flow problems in incompressible Newtonian fluids without thermal effects through the C++ programming language and the implementation of the finite volume method. The RANS equations were applied together with the transport equations of k and ω, and the Boussinesq approximation for the modeling of the Reynolds stresses and the production of k, in addition, the solution for the coupling between velocity and pressure was achieved from the SIMPLE algorithm. The numerical results obtained from the studied turbulence models (k-ω: 1988,1998,2006; k-ω: SST,SST 2003 y k-ω: BSL), were compared against the problems described in the literature of: Plane turbulent channel flow (PTCF) for Reynolds of 395 and 590 based on friction velocity [Moser, R., et al, 1998]; Zero pressure gradient flat plate (ZPGFP) for Reynolds of 5x10^6 based on plate length [Wieghardt, 1951]; Backward facing step (BFS) for Reynolds of 36000 based on the step height [Driver et al, 1985] y Lid-driven cavity (LDC) for Reynolds of 10000 based on cavity length [Ghia, U., et al, 1982], where the average error percentages obtained in the velocity, turbulent kinetic energy and friction coefficient profiles were calculated and compared given the case studied. Finally, a simulation for the PTCF problem for a Reynolds of 1000 based on friction velocity was performed.
Spanish abstract:	El prop�sito de este estudio es validar el desarrollo de algoritmos propios para la resoluci�n de problemas de flujo turbulento en fluidos newtonianos incompresibles sin efectos t�rmicos a trav�s del lenguaje de programaci�n C++ y la implementaci�n del m�todo de vol�menes finitos. Se aplicaron las ecuaciones RANS en conjunto a las ecuaciones de transporte de k y ω, y la aproximaci�n de Boussinesq para el modelamiento de los esfuerzos de Reynolds y la producci�n de k, adem�s, la soluci�n para el acoplamiento entre la velocidad y la presi�n se logro a partir del algoritmo SIMPLE. Los resultados num�ricos obtenidos a partir de los modelos de turbulencia estudiados (k-ω: 1988,1998,2006; k-ω: SST,SST 2003 y k-ω: BSL), se compararon contra los problemas descritos en la literatura de: Plane turbulent channel flow (PTCF) para los Reynolds de 395 y 590 basados en la velocidad de fricci�n [Moser, R., et al, 1998]; Zero pressure gradient flat plate (ZPGFP) para un Reynolds de 5x〖10〗^6 basado en el largo de la placa [Wieghardt, 1951]; Backward facing step (BFS) para un Reynolds de 36000 basado en la altura del escal�n [Driver et al, 1985] y Lid-driven cavity (LDC) para un Reynolds de 10000 basado en la longitud de la cavidad [Ghia, U., et al, 1982], en donde se calcularon los porcentajes de error promedio obtenidos en los perfiles de velocidad, energ�a cin�tica turbulenta y coeficiente de fricci�n dado el caso estudiado. Por �ltimo, se realiz� una simulaci�n para el problema de PTCF para un Reynolds de 1000 basado en la velocidad de fricci�n.
