English title:	Nanostructures and nanocomposites of polymeric matrix for waste reuse and environmental remediation

English abstract:	Nanomaterials have been applied in various areas of society. There is a growing demand for developing systems with superior performance and lower costs. Materials obtained from the recovery of mineral and agricultural waste have been gaining more space due to the environmental impact minimization and the obtaining of second-generation products. In both cases, it is possible to perform reuse, separation and obtaining new compounds with active properties from an appropriate chemical treatment associated with different processing. In turn, synthetic nanomaterials obtained by commercial sources require precursor sources that allow structural and morphological control, and reproducibility, resulting in a wide range of research to obtain more efficient technologies and reduced cost. Recoverable and reusable nanomaterials for water and air decontaminating by adsorptive and photocatalytic processes, which have a high surface area, are promising for environmental remediation. Furthermore, nanostructures can be inserted into polymeric systems, allowing their use as nanocomposite films and fibers with unique properties that favor easy recovery in application processes and their use in antimicrobial and ultraviolet-visible protection membranes, mechanical reinforcement, and in the release of agro-industrial nutrients. Nanoparticles can be used to deliver mineral nutrients to the soil. The effectiveness of the process may be associated with conditioning methods of these nanoparticles in biodegradable polymers to adjust the nutrient delivered. The development of films for sustainable packaging, optical protectors, or bactericides can be obtained through components from natural and biodegradable and/or waste sources to obtain nanostructures that favor reinforcement conditions for these nanocomposites, resulting in resistant products with added value. Thus, the present work seeks to elucidate ways to obtain and apply nanocomposites that improve their properties by adding synthetic or waste treatment nanostructures. Therefore, understanding the possibilities of reusing waste enables a gain with inestimable value since it makes it favorable to obtain environmentally friendly materials as an alternative to the circular economy.
Spanish abstract:	Los nanomateriales se vienen aplicando en diversas �reas de la sociedad y existe una demanda creciente para el desarrollo de sistemas con prestaciones superiores y menor coste. Los materiales obtenidos a partir de la valorizaci�n de residuos minerales y agr�colas ganan cada vez m�s espacio debido a la minimizaci�n del impacto ambiental y a la obtenci�n de productos de segunda generaci�n. En ambos casos, a partir de un adecuado tratamiento qu�mico asociado a diferentes procesos es posible reutilizar, separar y obtener nuevos compuestos con propiedades activas. Los nanomateriales sint�ticos obtenidos por fuentes comerciales, por otro lado, requieren el uso de fuentes precursoras que permitan el control estructural, morfol�gico y de reproducibilidad, lo que da lugar a un amplio abanico de investigaciones para la obtenci�n de tecnolog�as m�s eficientes y de coste reducido. Los nanomateriales recuperables y reutilizables para la descontaminaci�n del agua y el aire mediante procesos adsortivos y fotocatal�ticos, que presentan una elevada �rea superficial, son candidatos prometedores para la remediaci�n medioambiental. Adem�s, las nanoestructuras pueden ser insertadas en sistemas polim�ricos permitiendo el uso como pel�culas y fibras nanocompuestas con propiedades �nicas que favorecen la f�cil recuperaci�n en los procesos de aplicaci�n, as� como el uso en membranas antimicrobianas, barrera para radiaci�n ultravioleta-visible, refuerzo mec�nico y en la liberaci�n de nutrientes agroindustriales. Las nanopart�culas pueden utilizarse para el suministro de nutrientes minerales al suelo. La eficacia del proceso puede estar asociada a m�todos de acondicionamiento de estas nanopart�culas en pol�meros biodegradables para ajustar el nutriente suministrado. El desarrollo de films inteligentes para envases sostenibles, protectores �pticos o bactericidas puede obtenerse mediante componentes de origen natural y biodegradables, as� como el aprovechamiento de residuos para la obtenci�n de nanoestructuras que favorezcan las condiciones de refuerzo de estos nanocompuestos, dando lugar a productos resistentes y con valor a�adido. As�, el presente trabajo pretende dilucidar algunas v�as de obtenci�n y aplicaci�n de nanocompuestos que hayan visto mejoradas sus propiedades a partir de la adici�n de nanoestructuras sint�ticas u obtenidas del tratamiento de residuos. De esta manera, comprender las posibilidades de reutilizaci�n de residuos permite una ganancia invaluable, ya que favorece la obtenci�n de materiales amigables con el medio ambiente, como una alternativa a la econom�a circular.
