English title:	Research of physicomechanical properties of natural fabrics coated on thermosetting compounds of graphene oxide and polyurethane resin for reinforcement of TRC (textile reinforced concrete) composites
Spanish title:	Estudio de las propiedades fisicomec�nicas de tejidos naturales recubiertos con compuestos termoestables de �xido de grafeno y resina de poliuretano para el reforzamiento de compuestos tipo TRC (textile reinforced concrete)
English abstract:	Concrete is a conglomerate mixture composed of cement and aggregates with the ability to harden when dries and, due to its mechanical capabilities, is widely used in construction. It is usually reinforced with corrugated steel to improve its deformation capacity; however, its usage can become expensive in certain applications. the present research work evaluates the mechanical properties of an alternative support material for precast concrete, composed of fique covered with polyurethane resin and graphene oxide (PUOG), was carried out with the objective of determining the contribution of the material to the enhancement of the mechanical characteristics of precast concrete. The methodology carried out consisted of four phases, the first phase consisted of the application of the PUOG coating on the fique fabric by the usage of a paint roller and the recording of our procedure, the second phase was the characterization of the reinforcement via the tensile test of the material to determine what amount of coating applied, called "layers", of the 3 levels chosen provides better tensile strength, the characterization by gravimetry of the amount of PUOG applied and FTIR spectroscopy of the characteristic vibration of the graphene oxide coating and its variation between each layer of coating. In the third phase, tensile tests were carried out on the reinforcing compound of fique fabric - concrete, to determine the tensile strength provided to the concrete by comparing four samples with reinforcement of non-coated fique fabric and coated fique fabric with the PUOG coating. In the fourth phase, the analysis of resistance to interfacial shear strength was done via pull-out extraction tests and the later characterization of the fractures of the pull-out tests by the usage of SEM microscopy, in this phase were also used 4 samples of non-coated fique fabric and fique fabric with PUOG coating. Considering the results obtained in phase 1 and 2, the behavior of the fabric with two layers of coating achieved greater surface coverage and tensile strength than the non-coated fique fabrics, due to the results, it was determined to use fabric with two layers of coating for the realization of phase 3 and 4. the results obtained in phase 3 (compound tensile tests) were carried out using fique fabric reinforcements with two layers of coating, achieving a maximum force of 3601 N and an average force of 2986 N were obtained, comparing with the results obtained with non-coated fique tissues, there was an increase of 26.89%. The extraction tests (Pull-out) carried out in phase 4, showed a maximum interfacial shear strength of 0.939 MPa with the two-layer coated fique fabric reinforcement. From the results obtained, it was concluded that the application requires a sufficient coating to properly cover the fabric, and it provides improvements to the tensile strength and interfacial shear strength of the fabric-cement interface. This research will open doors to new alternatives when the production of graphene oxide in industrial quantities is improved and optimized, and an effective application method of the resin is designed for an industrial scale.
Spanish abstract:	El concreto es una mezcla conglomerada compuesta de cemento y agregados con la capacidad de endurecerse al secarse, que, gracias a sus capacidades mec�nicas, es ampliamente usado en la construcci�n. Usualmente, se refuerza con acero corrugado para mejorar su capacidad de deformaci�n, sin embargo, su uso puede llegar a ser costoso en ciertas aplicaciones. En el presente trabajo de investigaci�n se realiz� la evaluaci�n de las propiedades mec�nicas de un material de soporte alternativo para moldeados de concreto prefabricados, compuesto de fique recubierto de resina de poliuretano y �xido de grafeno (PUOG), con el objetivo de determinar el aporte del material a la mejora de las caracter�sticas mec�nicas de los prefabricaos de concreto. la metodolog�a realizada se compuso de cuatro fases, la primera fase consisti� en la aplicaci�n uniforme del recubrimiento de PUOG sobre el tejido de fique por medio de un rodillo para pintura y registro de nuestro procedimiento, en la segunda fase se realiz� la caracterizaci�n del refuerzo mediante la prueba de tracci�n del material para determinar qu� cantidad de recubrimiento aplicado, denominado como �capas�, de los 3 niveles escogidos aporta mejor resistencia a la tracci�n, la caracterizaci�n por gravimetr�a de la cantidad de PUOG aplicada y la espectroscopia FTIR de la vibraci�n caracter�stica del recubrimiento de �xido de grafeno y su variaci�n entre cada capa de fique recubierto. En la tercera fase se realizaron pruebas de tracci�n del compuesto refuerzo de tejido de fique -concreto, para conocer la resistencia a la tensi�n aportada al concreto al comparar cuatro muestras con refuerzo de tejido de fique no recubierto (tambi�n llamado �crudo� durante la investigaci�n) y tejido de fique con el recubrimiento de PUOG. En la cuarta fase se realiz� el an�lisis de resistencia al corte interfacial por medio de ensayos de extracci�n pull-out y caracterizaci�n de las fracturas de las pruebas de pull-out por medio de microscopia SEM, con el uso de 4 muestras de tejido de fique crudo y tejido de fique con el recubrimiento de PUOG. Considerando los resultados obtenidos en la fase 1 y 2, el comportamiento del nivel de �dos capas� logr� una mayor cobertura de la superficie y resistencia a la tracci�n que los tejidos de fique no recubiertos, por tanto, se determin� utilizar refuerzos de tejido de fique del nivel de �dos capas� para la realizaci�n de la fase 3 y 4. Los resultados obtenidos en la fase 3 (pruebas de tracci�n compuesta) realizadas con refuerzos de tejido de fique del �dos capas�, se obtuvo una fuerza m�xima de 3.601 N y una fuerza promedio de 2.986 N, comparando con los resultados obtenidos con los tejidos de fique crudo, hubo un incremento del 26.89%. Las pruebas de extracci�n (Pull-out) realizadas en la fase 4, mostraron una resistencia al corte interfacial m�xima de 0.939 MPa con el refuerzo de tejido de fique del nivel de �dos capas�. A partir de los resultados obtenidos, se concluy� que la aplicaci�n requiere de un recubrimiento suficiente para cubrir el tejido adecuadamente, y provee de mejoras a la resistencia a la tracci�n y resistencia al corte interfacial de la interfaz fibra-cemento. Esta investigaci�n abre las puertas a nuevas alternativas en cuanto se mejore y optimice la producci�n del �xido de grafeno en cantidades industriales, y se dise�e un m�todo de aplicaci�n eficaz a escala industrial de la resina.
