English title:	Study of interfacial adhesion between cementitious matrices and fique woven textiles reinforcements coated with polyurethane/graphene oxide resins

English abstract:	The present study analyzes the effect of fique fabrics design and their coating with polyurethane/graphene oxide (PUOG) resins on the mechanical behavior and interfacial adhesion to cementitious matrices used in construction. Woven meshes with three weave densities (1212, 88 and 24*24 yarns/decimeter) were used in single, double and multiple weave yarns. The coating (PUOG) was obtained from a mixture of diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) and graphene oxide. The fabrics used (raw and PUOG coated) were characterized in tensile under ASTM D6637. Ten specimens of each yarn type were tested. The fique mortar/mesh composites were evaluated for tensile and pull-out tests. Five specimens were tested for each type of preparation. The woven fique meshes showed tensile strengths between 5.2 and 11.2 MPa. All coated fabrics showed increases in tensile strength up to 40 %. PUOG-coated meshes increased their stiffness by 21% on average respect to uncoated ones, while axial deformation did not show significant variations. Tensile strength of composites increased up to 53% in composites with coated meshes with respect to composites with raw ones. The axial deformations increased from 3.2% to 8% if the load recovery zone of the reinforcement after failure of the cementitious matrix is taken into account. In the present study, it was found that the reinforcement of mortars with fique fabrics can improve their mechanical performance by coating the fabrics with PUOG resins. This was observed in the improvement of the stiffness of the modified reinforced composites. The present study demonstrates that the adequate preparation of woven fique meshes enables their use as reinforcing agents in cementitious materials and opens new application possibilities for this type of composites.
Spanish abstract:	En el presente estudio se analiza el efecto del dise�o de tejidos de fique y su recubrimiento con resinas de poliuretano/�xido de grafeno (PUOG) sobre el comportamiento mec�nico y la adhesi�n interfacial a matrices cementiceas usadas en construcci�n. Se utilizaron mallas tejidas con tres densidades de entramado (1212, 88 y 24*24 hilos/dec�metro) en hilos de entramado sencillos, dobles y m�ltiples. El recubrimiento (PUOG) se obtuvo a partir de una mezcla de diisocianato de difenilmetano (MDI) y �xido de grafeno. Los tejidos utilizados (crudos y recubiertos con PUOG) se caracterizaron a tracci�n bajo la norma ASTM D6637. Se ensayaron 10 probetas de cada tipo de hilo. Los compuestos mortero/mallas de fique se evaluaron a tracci�n y pull-out. Se ensayaron 5 probetas por cada tipo de preparaci�n. Las mallas tejidas de fique mostraron resistencias a la tracci�n entre 5.2 y 11.2 MPa. Todos los tejidos recubiertos mostraron aumentos en la resistencia a la tracci�n hasta un 40 %. Las mallas recubiertas con PUOG aumentaron su rigidez en 21% en promedio respecto a las crudas, mientras que la deformaci�n axial no present� variaciones significativas. La resistencia a la tracci�n de los compuestos se increment� hasta 53% en compuestos con mallas recubiertas respecto a los compuestos con mallas crudas. Las deformaciones axiales aumentaron de 3.2% hasta 8% si se cuenta la zona de recuperaci�n de carga por parte del refuerzo, luego de la falla de la matriz cementicia. En el presente estudio se encontr� que el reforzamiento de morteros con tejidos de fique puede mejorar su desempe�o mec�nico mediante el recubrimiento de los tejidos con resinas PUOG. Lo cual se observ� en el mejoramiento de la rigidez de los compuestos con refuerzo modificados. Con el presente estudio se demuestra que la preparaci�n adecuada de mallas de fique tejidas posibilita su uso como agentes de refuerzo en materiales cementiceos y abre nuevas posibilidades de aplicaci�n para este tipo de compuestos.
