English title:	FLAT THERMOSYPHON WELDED BY EPOXY RESIN FOR THERMAL CONTROL OF PHOTOVOLTAIC PANELS

English abstract:	Current processes of transition from fossil energy mix to renewable sources have brought the development of efficient devices. Photovoltaic panels are an important technology in the use of solar energy. Control of the operating temperature is one of the aspects that arouse interest in this technology. Technological solutions that allow thermal control through the rejection or use of absorbed thermal energy are currently being investigated. Flat thermosyphons are one of the solutions used for this purpose. Thermosiphons are devices that use the phase change of a working fluid to transport thermal energy with low-temperature gradients. Thermosiphons are originally formed by a hollow tube closed at both ends. The bottom section absorbs the heat and produces the evaporation of the working fluid. The generated steam flows through the internal section of the tube to the upper region where the heat is rejected, producing the condensation of the fluid again. The condensate returns to the bottom region by the action of gravity. Recent developments and applications of additive manufacturing technologies have allowed the manufacture of flat geometry thermosiphons through the joining of metal sheets by diffusion welding. However, specialized equipment and exhaustive cleaning and preparation processes do not favor its economic viability in applications such as photovoltaic panels. Other forms of union that allow the operation of thermosiphons are necessary. In this work, a flat thermosiphon using an epoxy resin for joining metal sheets is built. Performance tests of the thermosiphon built using this method are conducted on an experimental bench. Several experimental operating conditions are reproduced in order to simulate the variable thermal loads and to evaluate the sealing capacity and mechanical and thermal resistance of the epoxy resin.
Spanish abstract:	Los procesos actuales de transici�n de la matriz energ�tica de origen f�sil para fuentes renovables han tra�do consigo el desarrollo de dispositivos eficientes. Los paneles solares fotovoltaicos constituyen una importante tecnolog�a en el aprovechamiento de la energ�a solar. El control de la temperara de operaci�n es uno de los aspectos que despierta inter�s en esta tecnolog�a. Soluciones tecnol�gicas que permitan el control t�rmico mediante el rechazo o aprovechamiento de la energ�a t�rmica absorbida por los paneles son actualmente investigadas. Termosifones planos son una de las soluciones empleadas para este objetivo. Los termosifones son dispositivos que emplean el cambio de fase de un fluido de trabajo para el transporte de energ�a t�rmica con bajos gradientes de temperatura. Los termosifones son originalmente formados por un tubo hueco cerrados por ambos extremos. Una secci�n es encargada de absorber el calor y producir la evaporaci�n del fluido. El vapor generado fluye por la secci�n interna del tubo hasta la regi�n superior donde el calor es rechazado produciendo la condensaci�n del fluido. El condensado retorna nuevamente hasta la regi�n inferir por acci�n de la gravedad. Recientes desarrollos y aplicaciones de tecnolog�as de manufactura aditiva han permitido la fabricaci�n de termosifones de geometr�a plana a trav�s de la uni�n de l�minas met�licas soldadas por difusi�n. Sin embargo, equipos especializados y procesos de exhaustiva limpieza y preparaci�n no favorecen su viabilidad econ�mica en aplicaciones como los paneles solares fotovoltaicos. As�, otras formas de uni�n que permitan la operaci�n de los termosifones son necesarias. En este trabajo un termosif�n plano empleando una resina ep�xica para la uni�n de l�minas de metal es construido. Pruebas de funcionamiento del termosif�n construido empleando este m�todo son conducidas en un banco experimental. Varias condiciones de operaci�n son reproducidas considerando cargas t�rmicas variables para evaluar la capacidad de estanqueidad y la resistencia mec�nica y t�rmica de la resina ep�xica.
