English abstract:	In one of its branches, nanotechnology studies the design of nanometer-sized materials which possess chemical and physical properties different from those of macroscopic material; when talking about magnetic particles the decrease in size brings a change in the magnetic behavior of the material, magnetite (Fe 3 O 4 ) is currently one of the most studied magnetic nanoparticles; this type stands out for its low cost, its low coercive field, its ease of surface modification and its good magnetization levels (Du., Liu & Xia.,2016). The addition of magnetite nanoparticles has been applied in many fields, including construction with the use of magnetite as a load-bearing material increasing the weight of concrete, in medicine creating barriers to the propagation of radioactive emissions and has been considered in the hydrocarbon industry as an improved recovery option since magnetic nanoparticles can selectively adsorb asphaltenes and facilitate the breakage to single bonds (Nassar, Hassan., & Pereira-Almao., 2011) reducing the viscosity of the crude oil which allows it to flow between the rock without resistance; however, magnetite nanoparticles tend to form agglomerates due to strong anisotropic dipolar interactions, thus losing their dispersibility in aqueous media, which hinders their use in this field; this is why it becomes essential to immobilize these nanoparticles on supports to preserve their properties (Deng., Wen & Wang., 2012). Among a large group of materials, graphene and its derivatives are considered to have a high capacity for the immobilization of nanoparticles since graphene oxide (GO) has a lamellar structure that grants it a large surface area and high reactivity of its functional groups; GO-immobilized nanoparticles not only prevent aggregation, but also preserve the properties of nanoparticles through a synergistic effect between both components (G�mez., Cabanzo & Mej�a-Ospino., 2019). In this study, the synthesis of graphene oxide was carried out by the modified Hummers method, then ferromagnetic nanoparticles were added by a bottom-up route, later washes were performed to purify the material and it was freeze-dried in order to obtain a powder for characterization. The material was spectroscopically characterized by FT-IR which is a technique that provides structural information showing bands associated with GO and magnetite, additionally scanning electron microscopy was performed which is a microscopic technique that shows specific characteristics of the surface morphology and size of the material where a change in morphology is observed due to the presence of a new material on the surface of the GO film, this new material is magnetite evidenced by means of a punctual EDS study and finally a thermogravimetric analysis as a complementary technique to determine the thermal behavior of the material where a degradation peak was obtained at 685�C approximately, additionally, by exposing the material to a constant magnetic field its magnetization was corroborated due to the strong attraction it experienced towards the source of the field. Finally, this study was able to obtain a magnetic graphene oxide nanomaterial characterized by different techniques and presents it as a candidate for possible applications as a viscosity reducer of a heavy crude oil.
Spanish abstract:	En una de sus ramas, la nanotecnolog�a estudia el dise�o de los materiales de tama�o nanom�trico los cuales poseen propiedades qu�micas y f�sicas diferentes a las del material macrosc�pico; cuando se habla de part�culas magn�ticas la disminuci�n de tama�o acarrea un cambio en el comportamiento magn�tico del material, la magnetita (Fe 3 O 4 ) es actualmente una de las nanopart�culas magn�ticas m�s estudiadas; este tipo se destaca por su bajo costo, su bajo campo coercitivo, su facilidad de modificaci�n superficial y sus buenos niveles de magnetizaci�n (Du., Liu & Xia.,2016). La adici�n de nanopart�culas de magnetita se ha aplicado en muchos campos , entre ellos se destacan la construcci�n con el uso de magnetita como material de carga aumentando el peso de los hormigones, en la medicina creando barreras a la propagaci�n de emisiones radioactivas y se ha considerado en la industria hidrocarburifera como una opci�n de recobro mejorado puesto que las nanopart�culas magn�ticas pueden adsorber selectivamente los asf�ltenos y facilitar el rompimiento a enlaces sencillos (Nassar., Hassan., & Pereira-Almao., 2011) reduciendo la viscosidad del crudo lo que permite que este fluya entre la roca sin resistencia; sin embargo, las nanopart�culas de magnetita tienden a formar aglomerados debido a interacciones dipolares anisotr�picas fuertes, perdiendo as� su dispersabilidad en medio acuoso, lo que dificulta su uso en este campo; es por esto que se hace indispensable inmovilizar estas nanopart�culas en soportes para conservar sus propiedades (Deng., Wen & Wang., 2012). Entre un gran grupo de materiales, se considera que el grafeno y sus derivados tienen una alta capacidad para la inmovilizaci�n de nanopart�culas puesto que el �xido de grafeno (GO) posee una estructura laminar que le concede una gran �rea superficial y alta reactividad de sus grupos funcionales; las nanopart�culas inmovilizadas por GO no solo evitan la agregaci�n, sino que tambi�n preservan las propiedades de las nanopart�culas mediante un efecto sin�rgico entre ambos componentes. (G�mez., Cabanzo & Mej�a-Ospino., 2019). En este estudio se llev� a cabo la s�ntesis de �xido de grafeno por el m�todo de Hummers modificado luego se adicionaron nanopart�culas ferromagn�ticas por una ruta bottom up, posteriormente se realizaron lavados para purificar el material y se llev� a liofilizar con el fin de obtener un polvo para caracterizaci�n. El material fue caracterizado espectrosc�picamente mediante FT-IR que es una t�cnica que brinda informaci�n estructural mostrando bandas asociadas al GO y a la magnetita , adicionalmente se le realizo microscopia electr�nica de barrido que es una t�cnica microsc�pica que muestra caracter�sticas espec�ficas de la morfolog�a superficial y tama�o del material donde se observa un cambio en la morfolog�a debido a la presencia de un nuevo material en la superficie de la l�mina de GO , ese nuevo material es magnetita evidenciado por medio de un estudio puntual EDS y por ultimo un an�lisis termogravim�trico como t�cnica complementaria para determinar el comportamiento t�rmico del material donde se obtuvo un pico de degradaci�n en 685 �C aproximadamente, adicionalmente, mediante la exposici�n del material a un campo magn�tico constante se corrobor� su magnetizaci�n debido a la fuerte atracci�n que experiment� hacia la fuente del campo. Finalmente es este estudio se logr� obtener un nanomaterial de �xido de grafeno magn�tico caracterizado por diferentes t�cnicas y lo presenta como candidato a posibles aplicaciones como reductor de la viscosidad de un crudo pesado.
