
Student Monitors
Call for Applications
The Organizing Committee of the 7+1' International Meeting for Researchers in Materials and Plasma Technology (7+1' IMRMPT) appreciates the important role students play in the success of the event. To foster and enhance their involvement, we invite applications for Student Monitor positions at the conference.
Eligibility
Applicants must be enrolled as undergraduate, master's, or Ph.D. students (see section Special Considerations) and have an accepted abstract in the 7+1' IMRMPT (see section Application Requirements).
Responsibilities
Student monitors will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth execution of the conference by assisting with:
- Session management: Helping session chairs with room setup, including lighting, seating, projector and laptop connections, and laser pointer availability; they will also report and resolve technical issues with audio/visual equipment.
- Attendance tracking: Recording the presence of speakers and attendees during oral sessions and reporting any relevant observations.
- Poster sessions: Assisting in setting up posters and monitoring participant engagement.
- Plenary sessions: Attending plenary sessions on assigned duty days.
- Time commitment: Fulfilling assigned duties and attendants of the conference over the three days during the event.
Support for Students
The 7+1' IMRMPT Committee will provide full registration fee coverage for student monitors.
Application Requirements
To be considered, students must meet the following requirements:
- Abstract submission: to have an accepted abstract as presenting author at 7+1' IMRMPT.
- Attendance confirmation: Confirm participation by completing registration online.
- Application submission: Complete the Student Monitor Application form, from February 20th to March 11th, 2025.
- Selection announcement: Results of accepted applicants will be published by March 17th, 2025.
- Language and technical skills: Applicants must have proficiency in English; it is essential that applicants possess strong technical skills, including proficiency in handling technological equipment such as microphones and computers for presentations. Additionally, applicants should be attentive listeners who can follow instructions effectively.
Special Considerations
- Applicants who have recently graduated, their graduation should be within five months before the start date of the 7+1' IMRMPT, and do not currently have a job affiliation are eligible, provided they will present research conducted during their last academic level (undergraduate, master's, or doctoral).
- Those who have completed their studies more than five months before the start date of the 7+1' IMRMPT date are not eligible.
