English title:	Study of the degradation of ceramic oxide coating systems exposed to high temperatures
Spanish title:	Estudio de la degradaci�n de sistemas de recubrimientos �xido cer�micos expuestos a altas temperaturas
English abstract:	This work aims to study the degradation of Ytria-stabilized Zirconia coating systems with a NiCoCrAlY anchor layer on an AISI 310 stainless steel substrate exposed to high temperatures. To achieve the objectives, a simultaneous thermal gravimetric-differential scanning calorimetry analysis was carried out on the coated specimens for a period of 144 hours, where the mass gain (thermal gravimetric analysis) and the possible thermal events that may occur as the time elapsed were studied. Permanence (differential scanning calorimetry analysis) and isothermal oxidation thermal treatments were carried out at 1050�C for times of 72 and 144 hours, with cooling without thermal shocks. Subsequently, a microstructural characterization was carried out on the samples using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy to study the degradation of the coating and validate the failure mechanisms that can occur during the growth of the oxide layer formed thermally. Comparing the results obtained, there was a total mass gain of 1.76 mg, where some oxides were formed, and in residence times of 72 hours, the formation of the oxide layer formed thermally with partial delamination was observed, and at 144 hours, the catastrophic delamination of the coating was observed, being the oxide layer formed thermally a non-protective layer.
Spanish abstract:	Este trabajo tiene como finalidad estudiar la degradaci�n de sistemas de recubrimientos Zirconia estabilizada con Ytria con capa de anclaje NiCoCrAlY en un sustrato de acero inoxidable AISI 310 expuestos a altas temperaturas. Para el logro de los objetivos, a las probetas recubiertas se le realiz� un an�lisis termogravim�trico y de calorimetr�a diferencial de barrido por un tiempo de 144 horas, donde se estudi� la ganancia de masa (an�lisis termogravim�trico) y los posibles eventos t�rmicos que pueden ocurrir al transcurrir el tiempo de permanencia (calorimetr�a diferencial de barrido); as� como tambi�n se realizaron tratamientos t�rmicos de oxidaci�n isot�rmica a 1050�C por tiempos de 72 y 144 horas, con enfriamiento sin choques t�rmicos. Posteriormente se realiz� una caracterizaci�n microestructural a las muestras mediante microscopia �ptica y microscopia electr�nica de barrido con el fin de estudiar la degradaci�n del recubrimiento y validar los mecanismos de fallas que se pueden presentar durante el crecimiento de la capa de oxido formada t�rmicamente. Comparando los resultados obtenidos, hubo una ganancia de masa total de 1.76 mg, donde se formaron algunos �xidos y en tiempos de permanencia de 72 horas se observ� la formaci�n de la capa de oxido formada t�rmicamente con delaminaci�n parcial y a 144 horas se observ� la delaminaci�n catastr�fica del recubrimiento, siendo la capa de oxido formada t�rmicamente una capa no protectora.
