English title:	A mathematical model of the dynamics of the human cellular immune response to SARS-CoV-2
Spanish title:	Un modelo matem�tico de la din�mica de la respuesta inmunitaria celular humana a SARS-CoV-2
English abstract:	SARS-CoV-2 is a type 2 coronavirus causing the severe acute respiratory syndrome, highly contagious, and transmissible among humans. The natural human immune response to SARS-CoV-2 combines cell-mediated immunity (lymphocyte) and antibody production. In the present study, we analyzed the dynamic effects of adaptive immune system cell activation in the human host. The methodology consisted of modeling using a system of ordinary differential equations. For this model, the equilibrium free of viral infection was obtained, and its local stability was determined. Analysis of the model revealed that lymphocyte activation leads to total pathogen elimination by specific recognition of viral antigens. The model dynamics are driven by the interaction between respiratory epithelial cells, viral infection, and activation of Helper T, Cytotoxic T, and B lymphocytes. Numerical simulations showed that the model solutions agree with the dynamics involved in the role of lymphocytes in preventing new infections and halting viral spread. These results strengthen understanding of the organism's cellular immune mechanisms and processes against SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Spanish abstract:	SARS-CoV-2 es un coronavirus tipo 2 causante del s�ndrome respiratorio agudo severo, altamente contagioso y transmisible entre los humanos. La respuesta inmunitaria natural humana a SARS-CoV-2 es una combinaci�n de la inmunidad mediada por c�lulas (linfocitos) y la producci�n de anticuerpos. En el presente estudio, se propuso analizar la din�mica de los efectos de la activaci�n de las c�lulas del sistema inmunitario adaptativo en el hu�sped humano. La metodolog�a consisti� en la modelizaci�n mediante un sistema de ecuaciones diferenciales ordinarias. Para este modelo, se obtuvo el equilibrio libre de infecci�n viral y se determin� su estabilidad local. El an�lisis del modelo revel� que la activaci�n de linfocitos procura la eliminaci�n total del pat�geno, mediante el reconocimiento espec�fico de los ant�genos virales. La din�mica del modelo se conduce por la interacci�n entre las c�lulas epiteliales respiratorias, la infecci�n viral y la activaci�n de linfocitos T helper, T citot�xicos y B. Las simulaciones num�ricas mostraron que las soluciones del modelo son acordes a la din�mica que conlleva el papel de los linfocitos en la prevenci�n de nuevas infecciones y la detenci�n de la propagaci�n viral. Estos resultados fortalecen la comprensi�n de los mecanismos y procesos inmunitarios celulares del organismo frente a la infecci�n por SARS-CoV-2.
